Exciting announcement for all players graduating into CMSA soccer next season!

Saddle Ridge FC is proud to provide affordable community level soccer to hundreds of young players within our community. As our players grow and as we watch their skills develop, many of them will eventually become ready for a greater challenge. The next step for players in Calgary is to join a CMSA (Calgary Minor Soccer Association) team. This indoor, we would like to see all of our graduating U10 players consider taking on this opportunity. Please read the link below for news on the latest development within CMSA soccer programs right here in the North East of Calgary!

Eastside Memorial FC

Final Day for Online Registration!

Due to extremely high numbers in our community Spring League programs, we will be closing online registration at 5:00pm on Friday, March 8th. Thank you so much to the many, many players and families who have signed up for this year’s program. We are committed to offering the best possible experience and will be limiting our registration only to ensure that each player is given the attention that they deserve!

CMSA registration will continue to be offered through the Memorial FC website.

Outdoor Schedules Coming Soon!

For all of our new community players waiting on this outdoor season, please note that the website team pages and schedules currently reflect the indoor (winter) season only.  Please be patient as we complete the transition to our outdoor season.  New schedules should be set within the first week of March.  Thank you for your patience.

CMSA ID Cards

All new CMSA players in age groups U12 or older will need to purchase a CMSA ID card before the beginning of the season. You may book an appointment to do so at www.calgaryminorsoccer.com

Before booking an appointment, you will need your CMSA ID #. All new CMSA players have now been entered into the CMSA system. In order to find your CMSA #, please enter your player information into the CMSA ID # look-up tool by following the above link.

Team Schedules Update

Schedule information for all of October is now posted. Unfortunately, changes at our primary practice location (Bishop McNally Highschool) have delayed our practice scheduled release and made it difficult to provide consistent practice dates. Specifically, many of our planned Saturday sessions will have to be supplemented with weekday sessions.

If this has caused any questions or concerns, please e-mail stephan@saddleridgefc.com

Thank you for your patience throughout this process!

Team Roster Postings

Final team rosters have been decided for most groups. Please check the team pages under the CMSA tab to see the final team placements! If SRFC was not able to provide you with a placement in one of our teams, you will be contacted by e-mail or phone to discuss your options.

SRFC alumni dominate Tier 1 Provincials!

Congratulations to several of our former SRFC players, who featured strongly in this year’s Tier 1 Provincial Championships!

In U14, Orest Ndabaneze led Calgary’s NSD Celtic team to the Provincial Final, netting four goals, including a crucial finish in the final match to push his squad into a shoot-out for Provincial gold. Orest began his Calgary soccer career as an underage U14 player on the first ever CMSA team to play under the banner of Saddle Ridge FC. Orest experienced a heart breaking shoot-out loss to fall short of advancing to Nationals, but clearly did all he could to put his team within reach of a Provincial trophy.

In the U16 competition, former SRFC player Yenner Teah and SRFC Diversity Cup All-Star Caniggia Elva from Vieux-Fort St. Lucia helped SW United advance to the National Championships! Caniggia exploded in the U16 Final, scoring a hat-trick to defeat Calgary Foothills for the Gold!

In the U18 Tier 1 group, SRFC Cruzeiro star Yassin Yusuf (who was recruited by the highly touted Foothills Saints team following a dominating 2010 Tier 1 indoor campaign for SRFC) was the leading goal scorer in his age group. Yassin netted a hat trick in his first match and scored the only goal in a key victory over a favoured Edmonton Juventus squad to set his team up for the gold. Unfortunately for Yassin, Foothills fell short in the final match against Calgary Chinook.

Congratulations to all of our former players for the success they have had this summer! You are an inspiration for the next generations of elite SRFC talent!
